Photograph
Photograph, a small object with the capacity of containing hundreds and thousands of emotions. You’re highly mistaken if you think it is just an image captured by a camera! It is what instantly connects us to the person or place. It is very recently that I’ve realised how real the power of a photograph is! How it sometimes throws in our face how short lived our existence on earth is! One day you are a person who talks, who runs, who sings and dances and the next day you are just a picture! Mind numbing, isn’t it?
I’ve known someone only through the photos. Stationery and yet so full of life, mute and yet speaking a thousand words every time one looks, unreal and yet so radiant. Wondrous how attached one can be just with the visuals. You immerse yourself in a snap and you’d think you’ve known that non-existent view/person since ages.
It is astonishing that an image makes a memory timeless. Of blurred captures and poses intact, what stays are the old reminiscences. Until mankind develops a Time Machine, we’ll continue to hold onto moments with photographs which time and again will be the reminder for us to take it slow, pause and reflect on how far we’ve come.
